Urgent Call to Action by the International Community
Against “The Final Solution: Amhara Mass Incarceration and Genocidal War”
Oromo Extremist-Led Anti-Semitism Against Amhara is Alive and Well in Ethiopia
August 6, 2023 Amhara
Professionals Union (APU) is closely monitoring Ethiopia's latest developments, particularly in Gondar, Gojjam, Wello, Shewa, Wellega provinces, and the capital, Addis Ababa.
Consistent with our statement from April 30, 2023 [Amhara State of Emergency] the invasion of the so-called Amhara region and the declaration of military administration over civilians is an extension of the genocide the regime has been carrying out on Amhara people under various pseudo names since it came to power.
The radical extremist Oromo nationalists are led by Abiy Ahmed and his collaborators: Shimelis Abdisa, Adanech Abebe, Jawar Mohammed (Jawar Anti-Christian Hate Speech), Bekele Gerba, Lencho Bati, Lencho Letta, Abadula Gemeda, and their paramilitaries who have an anti-Amhara and anti-Semitic doctrine called Oromumma (Prof. Girma Birhanu: The New Frontier Of Antisemitism: Racial Discourse And Oromo Extremism In Ethiopia – Analysis).
APU once again warns all nations, concerned parties, individuals, and freedom-loving people of the world that the war declared by Abiy Ahmed Ali on the Amhara people is immoral and unjust. APU reminds all responsible parties that the declaration of the fourth war on the Amhara people by the regime comes at a time when the region is still lingering from the three consecutive wars by the invasion of the TPLF in the last three years and the overflow of millions of Amhara Genocide victims displaced in the region.
Furthermore, the regime has continued its genocide against the Amhara people by systematically denying farmers fertilizers and seeds essential to their livelihood, thereby weaponizing food. This is part of the political calculus to inflict maximum damage on the Amhara people during the planting and rainy seasons to cause hunger and starvation during the coming year.
APU states this is a deliberate declaration of war on the Amhara people by the regime and NOT a skirmish with a fringe, armed group, as uninformed or biased reports claim over social media and communications. It is a fight for survival by farmers, students, civil servants, businessmen and women, and everyone from all walks of life against an existential threat.
African Nations, the United States, China, the Russian Federation, France, the UK, and the rest of the world must immediately condemn Abiy Ahmed Ali for the war crime he is continuing to commit, which has led to the death of 1.5 million people and counting in just five years.
APU lists below the participants of the current illegal invasion and mass incarcerations of Amharas throughout Ethiopia and genocide in the so-called Amhara region.
- Abiy Ahmed Ali (Prime Minister)
- Sahlewerk Zewdie (President)
- Demeke Mekonen (Deputy prime minister)

The Above is not an exhaustive list and will be further updated) At the time of the release of this statement, contrary to the regime's genocidal invasion and use of heavy artillery on civilian populations and the use of Ethiopian Airlines to transport military personnel and heavy pieces of military equipment, most strategic areas in the Amhara region are accessible, under civilian patriots and altruistic FANO administration, and running smoothly.
APU condemns the regime's war crimes on the civilian population and calls on the international community to support the affected areas with humanitarian aid to avoid large-scale human disasters. The regime has deliberately kept millions of genocide and war survivors in various IDP camps without proper humanitarian assistance throughout the Amhara region, creating overburdened economic and psychological distress.
APU calls upon international organizations to provide immediate humanitarian assistance such as medicine, food, water, and temporary shelter to the affected areas without any interference from the regime. Independent journalists should document the horror survivors experienced by the fascist ethnic apartheid regime in Ethiopia.
APU calls upon the international community to support the Amhara people and other targeted communities in their struggle against the fascist genocidal system still committing massacres nationwide.
